In the early 1960’s, Lindsay Saker, the then agents for Porsche in South Africa finalized an agreement to assemble semi knock down Porsches locally.57 units were dispatched from the factory but 7 fell off the ship in the Suez Canal! The rest made their way safely to Johannesburg. The cars were primed body shells, which meant clients could spec their cars. Clients could select the color of their cars as well as interior trim. Other local content included the battery, tyres and the windscreen. These 50 Porsche 356 cars were the only Porsches assembled by a Porsche Importer anywhere in the world outside of Germany! This specific car has done 79500kms from new and has a full service history with the Agents and Porsche Specialists. The car has been completely restored. It is finished in ivory exterior with beautiful red leather interior. The soft top is in perfect condition. This was a nut and bolt restoration that took several years to complete and the attention to detail is unbelievable. The car is a numbers match car and is sold with its birth certificate to confirm its origin and history. A truly magnificent Porsche 356 with a great history. Please take note that all cars can be viewed by appointment only.. R2,900,000
