The name “Corniche” is derived from the French and Italian term for a coastal road, a cornice. The predecessor of the Corniche was the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with the two door variants of the Silver Shadow called the Mulliner Park Ward two door fixed head coupe and the drop head coupe. In March 1971 the name Corniche was used for the first time. The car was still assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward. The Corniche was available as either a coupe or a convertible and used the standard 6,75L V8 engine. No fuel injection on these models. The car was initially fitted with twin SU carburetors which was replaced by a 4 barrel Solex carburetor on later models. A three speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic gearbox, sourced from General Motors was standard. Performance figures such as zero to one hundred and top speed are irrelevant on this car. As is fuel consumption. This specific car is a 1971 Corniche Convertible finished in beautiful Ivory with Champagne interior with a Dark Beige canvas roof. The car has had some refurbish work done over the years. The exterior paint is very neat with the interior near perfect. The car has a new canvas roof and is mechanically sound. A breathtakingly beautiful “Rockstar” car, if that makes sense Please take note that all cars can be viewed by appointment only.. R695,000
