Acura is a luxury vehicle division of Honda Motor Company. Focusing on next-generation supercar dynamic features with enhanced environmental performance, Acura has projected to launch its next-gen mid-engine supercar in 2015.

The long promised next-Gen NSX mid-engine-sports car model made a real live appearance on 4 August 2013. This show off was held in Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio right before the Honda Indy 200 event.

"With leadership from our R&D and manufacturing teams here in Ohio, we are developing a next generation sports car that will be equally at home on the street and on the race track." said Ted Klaus, chief engineer of Honda R&D Americas, Inc.

The powerplant of Acura NSX consists of mid-mounted, direct-injection V6 petrol engine which is joined with Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system. Honda’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is a three-motor high-performance hybrid system which merges torque vectoring AWD by using enhanced hybrid efficiency and by applying three electric motors.

Among these three motors, one motor is integrated with the V-6 engine and its new dual-clutch transmission (DCT) drives the rear wheels, other two independent motors drive the front wheels. This system incorporates torque vectoring AWD systems which divides torque between the wheels to counter the default understeer that afflicts powerful all-wheel drive cars.
