Jaguar has released the portrait of its C-X17 crossover concept, a new foundation in their SUV concept.
It will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Show coming up next week.
The pictures reveals that the model is highly inspired from its recently launched F-Type sports car. And it is likely to reveal a crossover model than a full blown SUV. The new concept will be based on the highly advanced, modular aluminium architecture PLA (Premium Lightweight Architecture) which is rumoured to be seen in all the future models from Jaguar within next four years.
The upcoming infant from Jaguar with the saloon styling will use this new platform which is expected to be revealed for the next-generation Jaguar XF. It is flexible enough to be used on vehicles having size between 4.5 and 5m long.
Moving ahead the higher version of this platform which are both wider and capable of being stretched to at least 5.2m long are already being used by the new Range Rover models and will also be used under the next generation Jaguar XJ.
Not only Jaguar but, Audi is also planning to launch the new A4 under the aluminium MLB concept next year. The next generation BMW 7 series is also expected to be based on aluminium construction. So, Jaguar is planning to be permanently compatible with the aluminium construction as soon as possible.
