Mercedes-Benz introduce 9-speed auto transit fuel-efficient Model

Mercedes-Benz is a multinational division of the German manufacturer Daimler AG, and the brand is known for its luxury automobiles, buses, coaches, and trucks. 

Mercedes-Benz is one of the three best selling luxury automakers in the world. Mercedes-Benz provides the “essence of luxury” with its ultimate expression of “the best or nothing.” In next year (i.e 2014) Mercedes Benz is going to add 9-speed automatic transmission car into its line-up as standard equipment on the E350 BlueTec sold internationally.

The new E350 Bluetec will become the most fuel-efficient six-cylinder diesel car in its class. This model provides better fuel efficiency and reduced emission levels. The 185 kW (252 hp) V6 diesel engine provides average fuel consumption per 100km is 5.3 litres (18.86km/ltr). The CO2 emissions also improved with the 9-speed emitting 138g/km. This 9G-Tronic fails to make any impact on speed acceleration, which remains 0 to 100kph in 6.6sec.

The E350 BlueTEC is available as Saloon and Estate models and comes fitted with the new 9G-TRONIC as standard. The higher number of gears and the broader gear ratio spread increases the comfort in driving and also enables a significant enhancement to be achieved in terms of converting engine power into traction. The overall reduction in engine speed improves NVH comfort and this model cuts down external noise up to 4 dB for reducing the strain on the environment.

The features included in Mercedes Benz E350 Bluetec is the direct control system which gives short gear changes, and a double torsional damper and centrifugal pendulum technology in the torque converter, whose housing is made from lightweight aluminium. The another key feature of this model is transmission’s compact and lightweight construction. The E350 Bluetec is available in South Africa, however, it is not announced when the 9G-Tronic transmission will be available on the cars sold here.
