Though being in existence since last six years, Nissan GT-R has gone through a number of upgrades and limited editions. Recent report states that the recent upgrade has been confirmed for launching in 2016 or may be globally unveiled at the end of 2015. The production version was first debuted at the 2007 Tokyo motor Show and it is likely that Nissan will choose the same platform for the next launch as well.
However much info is not available for the Nissan’s next megastore project but from the reports it can be predicted that the car can comprise of features like start/stop system, cylinder deactivation technology, and hybrid powertrain. All these features are already seen in the Nissan Infiniti Essence Concept.
After Ferrari La Ferrari, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the McLaren P1, all featuring the hybrid technology, Nissan also set to adapt the hybrid technology and as it has recently registered a patent for “R hybrid” brand to use the Hybrid Technology in the next GT-R.
Until the new generation arrives Nissan is planning for GT-Nismo which will currently do 0-62 mph in just 2 seconds and the model will be more lighter and powerful than the current model. The current GT-R comes with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter engine that delivers 545 HP and 463 lb-ft of torque.
