Peugeot 308 R Concept car images revealed

The biggest auto show of the world is just few days away. The French automaker Peugeot has given an idea about what it will bring in this Frankfurt Motor Show. To showcase its new concept, Peugeot has released images of its new ultra-sporty car 308 R. The image shows us 308 R Concept is combined with red and black color with a clear separation line.

This new 308 R concept car is 30 mm wider and 26 mm lower than standard 308 model. Headlamps of 308 R concept is borrowed from the standard 308 model which consist of six groups of LED. The compact steering wheel provides clear and simple control to the driver. Dashboard is positioned to be viewed over the steering wheel, through this precise design information reading becomes very easier. Driver need not to take off the eyes from the road while driving. This Peugeot 308 R Concept is also incorporated with the large 9.7” touch screen which controls vehicle environment easily.

 

The bodywork of the new Peugeot 308 R Concept is also unique which includes the doors with carbon fibre, front splitter, side sills, bonnet and bumpers. However, the roof and the tailgate are taken from the standard 308 model.

From the standard 308 model, some components are specially enhanced to provide better output, i.e. the engine block which passes through a specific heating process before machining, the forged pistons with a grade of aluminium which are found in high-level competition, polymer big end shells, doubling up of the piston jets etc.


308 R concept uses 1.6 litre 4-cylinder engine which produces maximum 200 Kw of power at 6000 RPM and 330 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. CO2 emission is 145 gr/km. The power is given to its front wheel base via six-speed manual gearbox. This 308 R concept car can be accelerated from 0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds and the top speed should be approximately 250 Km/h.
