Audi rocked the floor by unveiling its Nanuk Quattro Concept on the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show. However it was expected to be revealed with the new A8 and S8 along with the quattro concept. This Diesel powered crossover is powered by a twin turbocharged 5.0 litre V10 diesel engine. Inspite of weighing nearly two tonnes, the car provides a top speed of 190mph.
The 537bhp and 737lb ft of torque available gives the car a 0-62mph time of just 3.8 seconds. Audi's seven-speed twin-clutch S tronic automatic gearbox allows it to deliver such a great power. Audi claims that the average fuel consumption of the Nanuk is only 36.2mpg and emits only 200g/km CO2 which is on an average similar to the Sport SDV6 from Range Rover.
The car comes with an adaptive air suspension along with three settings. The Four wheel steering set-up in the Nanuk concept is likely that is already been seen in the latest Porsche 911 Turbo. The front specifications is likely the same as seen in the Audi Sport Quattro concept, which is also to be revealed on the same floor. The concept uses the lightweight body panels built-up with carbon fiber.
The door and the rear view mirrors are replaced by cameras with the display screen. However it must be noticed that the car is not just a sports car as a whole. No rumours are being heard regarding the possible production of the car.
