The Toyota FJ has been popular since its launching in South Africa. It was launched in August 2011. Toyota FJ is a vehicle with the unique look. In FJ, "F" is the series of Engines and "J" stands for Jeep. Toyota FJ is a tough and reliable vehicle for South African bush and overland trips.
According to Kerry Roodt, Toyota’s General Manager of Marketing Communications, “The FJ has the crucial Land Cruiser DNA, which means that it can travel to, and return from, the most extreme environments."
New features of FJ Cruiser :
Toyota FJ includes the addition of second fuel tank. Original Toyota FJ has a 72 liter tank which has been increased to 159 liters. This added capacity gives a theoretical fuel range over 1000 km.
The other feature of this edition is a ‘Crawl Control’ function. This Crawl Control technique automates the acceleration and braking operation by controlling the engine and braking system to reduce the wheel skidding as much as possible. A speed-selector dial on a new overhead console gives the selection of five speeds. This keeps the FJ’s transmission into low-range and the system will disengage when speeds exceed 25 km/h.
Standard features of FJ Cruiser :
Except both these additional features, the FJ Cruiser sustains its standard equipments like: power windows, leather covered as well as multi-functional steering wheel, radio/CD-player with 6 speakers, iPod connector, external audio and USB connectors etc. The FJ is also designed with Toyota’s rear monitoring system in which video screen is integrated into the rear mirror for easily reversing.
