Yet another SUV for South Africa from Mahindra

Mahindra to launch its yet another SUV - Compact Quanto in South Africa. The SUV was already unveiled at the Jozi auto show. Tagged with the price of R199 900 the company claims to provide sufficient space in its five seater cabin in-spite of being just 4 metres in length.  


Having 2.2 litre mHawk turbodiesel engine which can generate 98kW of power and 290Nm of torque. According to Mahindra, the average fuel consumption is 7.6 litres/100km.  


Initially the 4*2 version will be available with a ground clearance of 200mm. While a 4*4 version is also expected to be launched at some time as the company is planning to do so. But the common things in both will be that all will have folding back seats and also a spare wheel at the rear door.

 

 

 

Having a look at the interiors, you will find a DIN MP3/CD sound system, Keyless entry, central locking, 15-inch alloy wheels with 205/65 radial tyres, powered external mirrors windows. Apart from this Mahindra has also included some of the  noting features like anti-lock brakes for front, drums at the rear in order to avoid a crash and in such emergency situations two air bags for front seater safety.

 

 

 

The SUV will be available through Mahindra's local network of 60 dealers. The SUV will be sold at a three year/ 100 000km warranty and a 3 year or 60 000km service plan.
